Rebecca’s Mum (and Rob’s wife!) ordered these 2 12″ cakes for a joint birthday party. Rebecca rears award winning cows, and her Mum brought us photos of the cow and calf to put on the cake. They are made from cutting out sugar paste and painting over the top. We even made their tags and rosettes to match the photos! Rob’s cake has a 2D rugby ball on sporting the logo of Rebecca’s work place. The logo is made from sugar paste too! Joint birthday cakes can be done as one massive cake or 2 smaller ones – come and see us for more ideas

Lesley’s Mulberry bag
This shaped Mulberry bag cake is made from a medium chocolate sponge which would feed roughly 30 people – it can be made larger or smaller and in a choice of flavours. We’ve made quite a few handbags here at the shop – always a pleasure, we love our handbags! Please bring us a photo of a handbag when you order your cake as there are loads of different types and patterns and it can really affect your quote
Owen’s (playing baby model) Christening Cake
How cute is this??! This edible sugar paste model of Owen has him about to chew his fingers (which I’m told he’s always doing) and playing with his favourite colourful toys. The rest of the cake is traditional baby blue and white – I love the colourful touches to the cake. The message is really nice too, a perfect cake for a christening
Jan’s Caravan Cake
Jan loves nothing more than getting away from it all in her caravan! Her work friends brought us a photo of her caravan and we made it out of vanilla sponge. This is a medium sponge which will feed 30 but there is a larger size available if you like. This caravan cake is sponge but can also be made from chocolate or fruit cake. All the things on the board are edible. It was left to me what to make on the board – so I made trees and shrubs, a little camp fire (and a pan with sausages and an egg!) and a few animals (see if you can spot the bunny, bird, squirrel, bees and ladybirds!)

Good Luck in your new Job – say it with cupcakes!
If you have an occasion that doesn’t require a massive cake – why don’t you try one of our cupcake boards? They are so popular as you don’t have anything to cut up, you can have different flavours, and the person can keep the board as a keepsake! Costs depend on the amount of cupcakes, size of board, and amount of time spent on decoration. Give us a call for a quote or pop in
Truro train (shaped cake)
Most of the time when we get asked to make trains or cars we make a flat cake and make models for the top. It’s really nice to get asked to make a shaped cake version – you can fit a lot of detail onto them (and a face if we’re asked!) but they are a lot more work! If you’d like a specific train like Lizzi – photos are appreciated, but if not we can google it. Just make a note of the name of the train for us if you can.
What a hoot! – owl shaped cake
For Jemma’s baby shower I made a shaped 2D cake based upon the wall paper in her nursery which is called ‘what a hoot!’ in neutral colours. I also decorated the board with twigs, leaves, and a little green bird to tie in with the wallpaper. Owl cakes are a really popular thing being asked for at the moment and a 2D cake is a lovely way to do it – or you can have 3D shaped cake or models on top of a cake!
Vegas inpired gambling cake for Liam’s 18th!
I love a themed cake – this 2 tier (12″ and 9″) gambling cake was for Liam’s 18th birthday. It has a roulette wheel at the top, edible money dice and chips, Las Vegas sign, and cards! I like it when a customer leaves it with me and I always get carried away. This cake is available in larger or smaller sizes to suit the amount of guests
