Anniversary & Engagements Cakes

Masquerade prom party

I’ve made masquerade cakes before, but this black white and gold one is my favourite!! Simple yet detailed, and all edible except for the feathers, it’s perfect for any occasion with a masquerade theme! It’s easily adapted to fit a message onto the board, and we can do it in any colours you like!

Chocolate present cake

This cute chocolate cake is covered in chocolate paste, and decorated with a cream ribbon and tag, and lots of different coloured spots! This cake would be lovely for any occasion, male or female!!

Christmas wedding part 1

This Christmas wedding cake was a 12″ fruit cake, and it was displayed at a Christmas party where the bride and groom were going to announce to their family that they secretly got married!! (I love being in on a secret!!) The bride specified that she wanted a coca cola train, and suggested a santa style edible bride and groom – and left the rest to us! I made an edible christmas tree and snowballs, and decorated the cake with snowflakes. The train had ‘Mr and Mrs’ written onto it too! Cute!

Lots and lots of flowers!

Both of these cakes in one week!! We also had more flowery cakes that week, but there’s only so many flowers you’ll want to look at in one blog :D

These flowers are made from sugar paste, and are partly edible, as some need wires to hold them together (why would you want to eat them anyway?) We can make them at your request – to match invites or wedding flowers! Just ask!

Pink Flowery Cakes

Flowers can be made however you like! To the left is a simple spray of sugar paste roses, to which we added sugar paste butterflies! You can add whatever you like to our cakes, maybe you would like to add stars or numbers instead of the butterflies? To the right is a 2 tier simple cake in white with 2 tone pink flat flowers. To a cake like this we could add wires, or a girl in a cocktail glass, or anything you like!! If you have any ideas at all, come and ask us and we’ll draw up some ideas for you!

Flag wedding cake

This fruit flag cake was actually for a belated wedding! It was designed by a friend of the couple – brought to us on an A4 piece of paper, so the edges of the cake were plain white with a dark green bow. I’m struggling to remember what country this flag is for! Flag cakes can be done for any occasion! If you’re going on holiday somewhere, or got engaged abroad, a flag might be a cute option!

Simple 1 tier flower cakes – for any occasion!

These 2 simple cakes are perfect for golden anniversaries, (and can be adapted to silver or ruby very easily) and birthdays or weddings! To the right is a cake designed for a golden anniversary, which was ivory with gold band and writing, and the flowers were also ivory with gold centres. This flower spray was mainly orchids and carnations, but had bears grass and ribbon in there too!

To the left is a wedding cake (which went all the way to Scotland!) it was again very simple, with ivory icing and a gold band, but this time with a flamboyant calla lilly spray! The centres were again painted gold, and we went to town with the bears grass and a simple bit of greenery to make it a striking centrepiece for the table. If you wanted this cake with a message we could always write on the board for you!

I’ve also added this cake to this post – another white and gold cake with simple flowers, with the board decorated too! This one has freshias and roses in gold and white. As you can see, you can tell us what you’d like and we make it exactly to your taste!

Golden wedding for Sheila and George

We do loads of golden wedding anniversaries, and this one was designed by the couple… yellow and purple flowers (roses and freshias) like their original wedding flowers, and little things from off the original wedding cake. We finished it off with gold ribbon and writing to match the colour of the day!! If you have an idea for a cake, let us know, we can design something to your budget!

Dunkirk survivors cake

I was really honoured when I was asked to make the cake for a party for the last 4 survivors of the Dunkirk tragedy. It focused on a particular medal, which we sculpted out of icing and painted gold. It is totally edible. We also put the initials of the boys on the corners of the cake! I can’t remember where the party was, but I’ve heard from a few customers that this cake was famous… it was featured on Midlands today! (I’ve tried to find the link on line but it isn’t available)

Giant Diamond

This giant diamond cake is perfect for a diamond anniversary, or engagement party!! It’s painted silver and coated in glitter to sparkle!! There is room for a message on the cake, or around on the board. We have scattered little diamonds around on the board too!
