Traditional Wedding Cakes

Filigree and satin bow wedding cake

This beautiful small 3 tier wedding cake is one of our new display cakes – a combination of 3 wedding cakes we made this year. The bow is a 1.5″ ivory satin with a vintage brooch, which is simple but absolutely beautiful!

Ivory and tiel wedding cake with roses

This gorgeous ivory cake has large sugar paste roses cascading down the front, also in ivory. The only other colour on this cake is a tiel ribbon to connect the cake. I love it when a simple tiered cake has a little splash of colour, and tiel is one of my favourite colours to go with ivory! It has edible glitter to set it off too! This wedding cake is a small 3 tier, made up of a 3″, 6″ and 9″ sponge. We also have a medium and large 3 tier – email me for a basic price list or quote (or you’re always welcome to pop into the shop of course)

Elegant detailed 3 tier wedding cake

How pretty is this wedding cake??! Each tier was a different flavour, and although there is a lot of detail going on, it still has a simple and elegant feel to it! We hired a ‘sweeping’ stand, as the groom really liked the cascading effect, but wanted each tier separate. We made the flowers quite chunky and all shades of pink and burgundy to match the colour scheme of the day, and arranged the flowers with bears grass to carry thought the sweeping effect.

The pattern on the side of each cake matched the brides wedding dress, and was piped on by hand using royal icing and silver sugar balls, and carried right around each cake.

old school royal icing wedding cake!

This really traditional wedding cake is based on a similar design from the website, but has been tweaked slightly with a few flowers and a set of pillars. We’ve also added calligraphy writing (never a dull day at the cake shop!) rather than the usual writing I’m used to, and a personalised sugar paste bride and groom. You’re welcome to change any design on the website to suit your tastes, I’m not going to be offended if you do! It’s a bespoke service :)

Blue fresh flowers wedding cake

This 3 tier cake has a cute royal icing pattern around the edges, and were separated with polystyrene to leave room for the fresh flowers! If you’d like fresh flowers on your cake – please consult with your florist, as some flowers are poisonous and would leave the cake inedible. We are quite happy to deliver and set the cake up for you with the flowers, although we would expect you to arrange the flowers with your florist,  and we can speak to your florist about sizes and delivery.

6 tier Simple for Sandon Hall

This very simple 6 tier wedding cake was white and glittery, with a black silk ribbon! The cake was delivered by myself, awaiting fresh flowers, so looked very simple when I left it like this. You can have as many tiers as you like, with a mixture of flavours. Please email me or call the shop for more information and quotes on larger size cakes (or small ones!!)

Massive wedding flower spray!

We were asked to make a simple and traditional one tier fruit cake with a lot of edible flowers, in purples and pinks. So here it is!! It has Michaelmas daisies, sweet peas, and freshias, with not too much greenery. If you want edible flowers, let us know what you’re after! Even if you’re unsure what you’d like, we can get enough information out of you to make your perfect cake!!

Lacy wedding cake

This lovely lacy wedding cake is based on a design brought to us by the bride. We changed the colour slightly from the original cake and turned it into a 4 tier, which is how we can do things. .. if you have a design in mind or would like to change something you see on our website or that you’ve seen elsewhere, just ask, it shouldn’t be a problem!! We can always do the cake that you like smaller or larger, in whatever colours, with whatever flavours. Lace is really pretty and makes for a pretty wedding cake, with a classic, elegant and simple appeal.

Giant roses wedding cake

This gorgeous wedding cake  had large edible roses and petals, over a fairly simple design. We finished it off with an edible bride and groom, or if You’d like it without a bride and groom, we could always add a smaller tier.

Prettiest wedding cake

This stunning but simple wedding cake is all in ivory. The piping onto it took hours but I was so happy with it in the end I didn’t want the bride to take it!!

It was 4 different flavours, and would feed 150 guests in various sponge flavours, more in fruit!
